Merry Christmas!

I'd just like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas! I hope all of your Christmas' were a blast. This year I got lots of big stuff, such as a Wii and a new GIANT flat screen. Well, giant for us (you'll know that if you've ever seen our TV). But it is pretty big -- 37". I also got a camera, mountains of lipgloss (yes!), and a bunch of books and cute clothes. Thanks everyone!
Anyway, I know that True had a great Christmas. (True, I hope it's okay with you if I post this. The picture is just so cute I couldn't resist!) She got a Chihuahua for Christmas, and named it Guapo. How cute is that? The picture is of them together. Awwwwwww . . .

Merry Christmas!

Ha, ha, ha! Are you single?

As Kaitlyn (my little sister, for all of those who don't know) and I were sitting by the tree rearranging presents, she pointed out that I had made a mistake on the To/From tag on a present. "Really? Nuh-uh." I shook my head once I saw it. She smiled. "I'm single." she replied.
I didn't really get it until she explained later. She had been humming the song "Single Ladies" by Beyonce. When she was about to say 'I'm kidding', the word 'single' slipped out instead! I started laughing pretty hard, when I thought back, it made it even funnier. Sorry Kaitlyn for posting your mishap! :D

Mom, you rock!

Hey guys, I found this on www.momsrising.com. Click here to check it out: CNNBC video. If you have a mom that you'd like to share this with, go to momsrising.com to email or post it. You rock, Mom!

Snow in St. George???

We had a snow day in St. George! I mean, not much, but it was a lot for here. I finally figured out how to add pictures, so that's why I'm putting all of these up! But that wasn't all! (You guys are probably smiling right now). I had gone Christmas shopping for my family with my grandma. When we got home, my mom was right there, opening the door for me. That's a little weird, I thought. Of coarse, it was only when Ashley popped out from beside the sink that I realized something was up. At first, when I saw her, I was thinking, oh, did she come over to get a ride or something? But then everyone else jumped out, and, looking back at the pictures Mom took, I was a little dazed. I had NO CLUE! I didn't think my friends could be so sneaky! They threw me a surprise birthday party!
I just want to thank everyone for being so awesome! . . . and for all the cool gifts! I luv you all!

3 more days. . . .

Can you believe it??? Only 3 more days until I'm 14! I'm way excited! This year I'm not having a party though. . . . my choices were either a party, or 100 dollars. I went with the 100 dollars. :)
And, just 15 days 'til Christmas!! We chopped down our Christmas tree up in Enterprise. Unfortunately, there was no snow, like there usually is. We got a really tall tree this year; almost 8 feet tall! It's awesome. Merry Christmas to everyone(and Happy Birthday to me)!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hey everyone! Just wanted to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving. I hope you guys are all enjoying your Thanksgiving break-- and to those who don't go to GWA and don't get a week off, I hope you have an awesome Thanksgiving anyway!
Also, I realized I didn't blog about Tuecahan, so here it is:
Me and a group of friends went to Tuecahan High School for a day to see if we would like it there. It was pretty fun, despite the few oddities(kids, teachers, classes, etc.) that we usually don't deal with in our small charter school. And the classes were 80 MINUTES LONG!!!! I'm surprised they can find stuff to fill that much time! Anyway, I think we all had a blast.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Do You Know Me?

I got this from Ashley's Mom's blog (her blog is pretty cool! And hilarious!) and I decided I could pass it on.
If you know me --whether or not I know you very well-- leave a comment about one time that we shared. I'd love to read them! And if you have a blog, leave you're address so I can go on and do it for you. Pass this on! Do this on your blog! :)

Happy Halloween!

As most of you know, Saturday is Halloween!!! So, to all of you, Happy Halloween! I hope you get all the candy you can eat! :P
I know most of us are being princesses, but even if you are, please leave a comment and tell me what you're going to be!
Another thing-- we zumbaed! Well, True and I. It was awesome! Everyone I talked to loved it. I know I did! I was nervous all day though . . . :)
Anyway, Happy Halloween to all of you! Boo!

Flu Season... Feel Better!

As we all know, it's becoming winter. Strangely, temperatures are acutally dropping in St. George! Really out of season, right? Yesterday I was on the way to school and in my car there's a thing that says the outside temperature. It was 48 degrees!!! I don't know about you, but that's cold for me! Anyway, winter also means flu season. Here are some fun things to do when you're stuck at home sick.

*Do the 'Do - pick a crazy hairstyle that you would never wear to school(or anywhere else). Try to create it. If it doesn't work, that's okay. Leave it as is, in the messed up 'do, as long as it's up and off your face.

*Nice Nails - paint your toenails in cute patternes, designs, etc. You have a whole day to yourself to mess around until you get it right! If you want, paint your fingernails to match!

*Day at the Spa - take a bubble bath, use pretty smelling lotion, listen to relaxing music, do whatever you want that remindes you of the spa!

*Funny Business - Read a funny joke book! Research shows that when you smile, your body releases chemicals that make you feel good. Crazy, right? But good for you! Even better, call up your friends, and see if you can make them laugh or watch funny TV shows.

*Think Drink - to get better, you need to drink plenty of fluids(how many times have you heard that before?). For fun, mix together juices, and soda for something like cranberry coke, or orange pinapple sprite... you try some.

*Citrus Cubes - Now that you have your awesome drink, you have to try these. Fill an ice-cube tray with orange juice, and freeze it. You can place them in water to give them a citrus tang, or in other drinks. To soothe your throat, just suck on them!

*Guest Book - go dig out a little note book that you've never used before, and write "Guest Book" on the first page. Then whenever your mom, dad, sibling, friend, etc. come to see you or even just bring you more Kleenex, have them sign in and out of your guest book, leaving their name, when the came/left, and if they want a note, drawind, comic, joke, etc.

I hope none of you guys get sick, but just in case....

Halloween Costume

I am sooooo excited! For Halloween I'm going to be a princess(not a Disney one). I'm going to wear my mom's old prom dress! It's all pink and white! Although I haven't seen it yet, I know it's going to be awesome. I'm getting it October 1st. I can't wait!

This is For True

At True's request, I wrote this entry. If you go my post "Nothing At All" and click on comments, then you can read it(her request). She wanted me to write about what I do at school, so here you go:
First, I go to the music room to do math(geometry). My teacher is Mrs. Brackett. Next I go to my "special", which today happened to be computers. Then today, we got to watch President Obama's speach to students. In my opinion it wasn't that bad. Next is period 3, or science, then literature. We are reading The Good Earth. It's good, just not my taste. Then we have period 5, or Spanish. Some days it's Fun & Fitness(which ROCKS!!!!!). Today we had a test. Blech. But I don't think I did that bad. Every other Friday I have yearbook, which I'm glad I'm in. Now I can take out all the stupid looking pictures of me(pretty much all of them). On other days, I have English and History.
I hope your happy True! :)

Nothing At All

I haven't updated for a LOOOONG time, so I figured I better. Nothing is happening in my life right now that's super exciting, or anything you'd want to read about. There you go. That's my update, until something cool happens.....

Zumba

I know, it's kind of a silly thing to blog about, but if you've ever tried it, it's really really fun(if you don't believe me, ask True)! If you don't even know what Zumba is, it's part dance, part excersize, and a lot of fun. I bet you could go on www.youtube.com and search for "zumba", and see what it looks like. I haven't tried though, so don't take my word for it. I line dance, and it's really similar... but not. I don't know. Today was my first time, but I really enjoyed it!!!

Back to School

Can you believe how fast summer went?! Only two more days!! Then it's back to homework, and getting up early. It's going to be way different with new teachers and everything. They've really mixed things up by adding electives and having periods, instead of one teacher only... idk. I'll just have to get used to it!!

Double Babies

Yesterday I went to the baby blessing of the CUTEST baby ever. He had the most hair I'd ever seen on a week year old(I think that's how old he was...). It was really interesting, because it was in a spanish ward. The father of the baby is Mexican(is that right? or is it Hispanic?idk), and he doesn't speak English very well yet, so we went to the spanish ward. At first I thought I was going to have to put my Spanish skills up to the test(thank goodness I didn't!), but they gave us(all the guests who couldn't understand Spanish) headsets that would translate everything to English. Actually there was a missionary in the corner repeating everything into a microphone that went straight to our headsets. It was really funny, cause during the sacrament we could hear him chewing.
The other baby I was talking about in the Title, isn't actually a human, and there are more than one. They're quail babies!! If you've ever seen my house, we are almost surrounded by fields. So we get coyotes, and stuff a lot. My dad thinks they must have been born in our yard, because they are SO little that they can't fly yet, and there's no way they could've gotten over our wall if they can't. I think they have a nest on the ground in our bushes. There are about six, and you could fit at least two in one cupped hand. They look a lot like chicks, but they have a brown stripe down their back and the little quail thing on there head.
To sum it up, it was really cute!

Frozen Treats

Because it is SO HOT here in St. George, I found some frosty recipes to cool you down.

Snowballs
Slide a bamboo skewer into three big marshmallow. Place it on a cookie sheet, and freeze for an hour. When you take them out, drizzle the tops of the marshmallow with chocolate Magic Shell topping, and add sprinkles. Let it harden, then eat up!
Flurry Float
This is like a root beer float- on a stick! Scoop vanilla ice cream into a plastic cup(about 1/4 full), and press it down until it's flat. Stick a Popsicle stick into the ice cream. Carefully pour grape juice onto the ice cream until it's almost full. Cover the cup with foil, with the stick poking out. Freeze over night, then remove foil. You can also mix and match juices and ice cream flavors for fun!
Chilly Vanilly
Put a few raspberries and blueberries in the bottom of a cup. Set it aside, and get out a small mixing bowl. Scoop a vanilla pudding cup(the already made kind) into the bowl, an stir in 1/2 cup berries. Add 2 tablespoons of whipped cream, and mix. Carefully scoop mixture into the cups, on top of the berries. Push a Popsicle stick into the cup, and freeze over night. Mmm-mmm!
Peanut Brrrr
Spread three thick stripes of peanut butter on the sides of the cup, top to bottom. Fill cup with strawberry yogurt. Insert a Popsicle stick, and cover the cup(with the stick poking out). When it's done, drizzle with chocolate Magic Shell topping, and let it harden.
Here are a few more yummy snacks, though not as cold(but just as good!).
Fruit Cup
Cut the top 1/4 of an apple. Using a melonballer(or I guess you could use a corer if you have one) core the apple, and with a spoon scoop just a little out of the apple, making a small bowl. Fill the apple with a mix of peanut butter and trail mix.
Fru-shi
This is basically fruit sushi. Wrap a peeled banana in green fruit leather(you can use different flavors, but green is what the recipe calls for). Cut the banana into slices, and dig a small indent in the center of the banana slices. Gently push sprinkles into the little whole(make sure it's not all the way through). Dip slices in lime yogurt. Enjoy!
I hope these help you stay cool!

Vacation

I'm sorry I haven't updated for so long, but I've been on vacation to my Grandpa's ranch. It was soooo much fun. We went fishing, and hiking, and we had a big firework show for the 4th of July. We also took our dog, Annie, which we've never done before. She happens to be a pug, so she wasn't the best ranch dog. Anyway, I had a blast.
This week my dad is in a baseball tornamet, called Heatstrokers. Because it's so hot during the day, he and his team are going to play in the middle of the night. I hope I don't have to go to all of his games!
By the way, the "My First Day Without Braces!!!!!" (my last entry) was actually written by Abbie. If you read it, it says we painted our nails. Well, my nails were still wet, so I couldn't type, and Abbie filled in for me.
I'll try to update more often!

My First Day Without Braces!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I woke up at around seven-thirty and started getting ready. At about 8 we left for Dr. Simister's office. I was feeling very excited to get them off. In less then an hour I had no braces and 2 retainers. After getting breakfast at McDonalds , I headed over to Abbie's house. She is one of my BEST FRIENDS. We watched the most high-larious  movie called WHAT ABOUT BOB????!!!!!!!!!!!!! after catching up on everything that  had happened between school and now. We made brownies and after they were done we went swimming. Between making the brownies and swimming we watch this really cute boy swim with Abbie's bros. Due to the fact that he may be reading this right now I will not mention his name. After swimming we painted each others nails, we then thought that we would update my incredibly AWESOME blog. Which we are doing right this second. So that concluded my very awesome and fun-tastic day!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Service Project

Have any of you guys ever seen "Extreme Home Make-Over"? Well that's pretty much what I've been doing for the last week, to my grandma's house. I've painted, wallpapered, moved furnature, organized, cleaned, and replaced her carpet with wood. Talk about tiring. I don't know how they can build a whole new house in just one week on TV. I can barely refloor in a week! Today my grandma is coming home from Oklahoma(she was celebrating her sister's birthday there), so we get to see her reaction. Just like "Extreme Home Make-Over", but she has no clue that we did anything! It's going to be exciting!!!!

Schools Out!

Yes! Finally! It's summer!!!!!!! On the last day of school I was close to crying with my friends, but excited out of my socks for vacation and everthing!
So far all I have plans for is going up to my grandpa's ranch, and going up to Salt Lake. I HOPE we might go somewhere exotic, like Hawaii, or the Bahamas.....but I doubt we will. I want to get with my friends as much as possible, too.
Most of all, I'm just glad it's summer!

Summer...

Sacred bovine, it's almost summer break! I've got so much planned for the summer, and I'll try to update as much as possible.

Laughter Is The Best Medicine

This is for you guys in a dismal mood: quotes. They're funny, and will hopefully make you laugh. Laughter is the best medicine, whether your sick, or depressed, it works. Laughter is powerful magic. It can turn sadness into silliness, heartache into happiness, and transform a gloomy day into a playful one.
  • A day without laughter is a day wasted. -Charlie Chapman
  • A good laugh and a long sleep are the best cures in a docter's book. -Irish Proverb
  • Mirth is God's medicine. Everybody ought to bathe in it. -Henery Ward Beecher
  • Laughter is America's most important export. -Walt Disney
  • The more you find out about the world, the more oppertunities there are to laugh at it. -Bill Nye (the science guy)
  • You don't stop laughing because you grow old.You grow old because you stop laughing. -Michael Pritchard
  • When people are laughing, they are generally not killing each other. -Alan Alda

I hope that these brightened your day!

Ode to Pugs

Okay, as I'm sitting here in front of the computer and my chuggy pug Annie waddles in, I realize how much I love my little "tootsie roll" with legs(she's as round as one). I figure she's special enough to have an ode to her.
ODE TO PUG
IF Annie were chocolate,
She would be the thickest, creamest, sweetest choclate there is.
IF Annie were a flower,
She would be a big fat rose that had just bloomed.
IF Annie were a racecar,
...well, she wouldn't win any races. She would be to slow.
IF Annie were carpet,
It would be shaggy and warm, so comfy that you would purposely take of your shoes to let it squish though your toes.
IF Annie were weather,
She would be fog, or smog, or something like that
If Annie were a color,
She would be purple. Our plump purple pug.
IF Annie were a television show,
She would be a short slapstick comedy.
IF Annie were a pug,
She would be the best pug ever!
Wow. Can you believe I wrote that off the top of my head? Just kidding...but I actually did write it off the top of my head.
If you want my advice, and if you want a dog, go for a pug. If you want a hunting dog, a dog that will willingly pick up a dead animal in it's mouth and bring it to you, a pug is not right for you. If you want a small lap dog that occasionally drools, and will always be loyal to it's people, then a pug is the right choice... although a pug does lick a lot and likes to run around when you get home from school.
I LOVE MY PUG!

Hic-hic-hiccups!

Today, as I was trying to update my blog since December, I realized that I had forgotten my password. So I go into the "I forgot my passoword" question mark, and it asks me what blog I forgot my password for. I type in the blog address, and it sends me to this! I have no idea what I did, or how I got this blog. Is it a new one? hmmm....
Okay, this might be weird, but it's handy, because one of those unanswerable questions is always: "How Do You Get Rid Of The Hiccups?", right? Right. So here are some answers to that unanswerable question:
*drink a glall of pineapple or orange juice.
*pretend your middle finger is a mustache, and press it under your nose for 30 seconds.
*swallow a teaspoon of fresh onion juice. (ewwww)
*get a mouthful of water, and press your middle fingers into your ears and press firmly. count to 100, then swallow the water and unplug your ears.
*sing opera.
*take seven drinks of water without taking a breath in between swallows. while you're drinking the water, keep turning the glass to the left.
*stick your tounge out as far as you can for three minutes. be careful, one big hiccup and -- ouch!
*close your eyes, hold your breath, and think of the names of ten bald men. it works!
*swallow a teaspoon of sugar.

If you have a sibling or friend with the hiccups...
*tell them you will pay them a dollar if they can hiccup after you say "GO!". They can't!
*out of no where, accuse them of something they didn't do: "you left the water running in the tub!", "you broke the plate!", or "you hit me!!"

Weird but true, all of these will work. I hope that they can help you somehow!
