Wherefore art thou, Summer?

I am SO SORRY. All you poor little followers (Ashley) have probably been begging for a new post (Ashley) because I have not update since December.

I have nothing exciting going on right now, to be 100% honest. Nothing. Nil. Zip. Zero. NOTHING. That is, if you don't count homework. Seriously, I am DROWNING in homework. I'll be surprised if I survive the last four days of school. (It feels really good to say that.... four days of school). Anyway, if you think I'm overexaggerating, here's a list of what I've had to do in the last to weeks:

*Read the book Frankenstein
*Make a written report about Barbados
*Make two whole honkin' posters about Barbados
*Go stand by said posters for two hours so people can ask you questions (fun, right?)
*Make a multi-genre project
*Present multi-genre project
*Write a review of literature on three articles
*Take a test that is an essay question (blech)
*Write a children's book
*Make a power point on a church prophet
*Memorize EVERY STINKIN' COUNTRY IN THE WORLD for geography finals.
*And last but not least, do a math assignment.

I swear, I haven't had a second to breath for the last two weeks. I can NOT WAIT  for summer to get here. Seriously, if it doesn't get here soon, I'm going to die. D-I-E, die.
Blech.

The Countdown

Tomorrow is December 1st. May I be the first to say: YES!!!! My birthday is approaching (presents welcome) and even MORE importantly, CHRISTMAS. So Merry Anticipatory Christmas to all! :P

Officially Freshman

Well, I'm officially a 9th grade freshman. Wow. Desert Hills is really different, but has a lot of perks. . . and non-perks. First of all, running a mile should not be required for P.E. It's survivable, but seriously? And the whole not being with friends 24/7? Not my favorite. Less homework is a bonus though. And most of the classes are pretty easy. Also, no uniforms is great. No complaints there. Except, who knew your shoes actually have to match your outfit? Not me.
So if anyone is, like, totally wondering my overall opinion of Middle School, here it is. I'm alive at the end of the day, so I'm satisfied.

Bryce Canyon

Hey Everybody! At this very exact second, I'm in Bryce Canyon. I don't know how many of you have been here  (there?) but it's pretty awe inspiring, with all of the hoodoos and such. We hiked around all morning, then went to the Lodge when it started to rain (one reason you don't want to hike). If you ever go there, I recommend the Club Sandwich- Just kidding. Anyway, tonight we're going to the Bar G Wranglers show & dinner, at Ebenezer's Barn and Grill. . . I don't know if that sounds like a hillbilly fest to you, but it kind of does to me. . . I hope the food's good!
Sorry I haven't updated in like. . . two months? I've been gone a lot-- We went to Zion in June, and I have to say, it is just as amazing as Bryce. My favorite hike is the Emerald Pools. . . or something like that. It's two miles (or around that, I think), but if you do it, you have to do the Upper Pond. It's almost never busy, and it is BREATHTAKING. It is so worth all the up-hill hiking!
I went to my grandparent's ranch in the beginning of July, and it was awesome. My mom made me drive 24/7, because I only have 6 months left 'till I get my permit. Eek! I did okay, but I don't know how much you can learn when the speed limit is like. . . 10mph. We also went boating a lot. . . well, if you consider paddling out in a little tin fishing boat in a teeny tiny lake-- no, pond-- boating. But I thought it was fun. Especially when you threw fish food. My aunt and uncle regularly feed the fish, so it's like they're trained to jump out of the water to catch it. It's way cool, it looks like the water's boiling. We also forwheelered  (that's a word, right. . .?) a few times. We only have two up there, but it was fun anyway.
Other than that, I just kind of hung out at home and tried to live through the heat-- you know what it's like in St. George. Miserable. My dad and uncle were in the Heatstroker baseball tournament, and they didn't do especially well, but it was fun staying up to midnight to watch him loose (no sarcasm there). I'm hoping to squeeze in more shopping for school- this'll be my first year in public school for a while now, and non-uniform clothes are kind of short in my closet.
So, if that doesn't sum it up for you, I don't know what will. Hopefully I'll be posting soon. . .

Graduation

Wow.

That's all I can say. Seriously. I am in so much shock! As this is my last year at GWA, I am pretty balked. The graduation ceremony was anomalous though! I don't know what I'll do without all of my best friends to help me walk down the hallway. Or, at least, today. For all of you who weren't there(or were, whatever) I tripped over something while playing basketball, and the next thing you know, I can't walk. I had to miss out on the legendary kickball game against the teachers! GO 8TH GRADERS!!! (we won 25-2) And, as a heads up, I won't be able to make it to the dance tomorrow. If you think you're disappointed, multiply that by a billion and that's somewhat like what I'm dealing with. Plus the pain of my ankle. Instead of groovin' on the dance floor, I'll be in Insticare. Yay...? I hope you guys rock out without my incessant need of a human crutch. Unfortunately, I probably won't see you all for a while, tomorrow being the last day of school and my not going. So I wish you guys the sunniest and most thrilling summer ever! I'll miss every one of you!
