Yesterday I went to the baby blessing of the CUTEST baby ever. He had the most hair I'd ever seen on a week year old(I think that's how old he was...). It was really interesting, because it was in a spanish ward. The father of the baby is Mexican(is that right? or is it Hispanic?idk), and he doesn't speak English very well yet, so we went to the spanish ward. At first I thought I was going to have to put my Spanish skills up to the test(thank goodness I didn't!), but they gave us(all the guests who couldn't understand Spanish) headsets that would translate everything to English. Actually there was a missionary in the corner repeating everything into a microphone that went straight to our headsets. It was really funny, cause during the sacrament we could hear him chewing.
The other baby I was talking about in the Title, isn't actually a human, and there are more than one. They're quail babies!! If you've ever seen my house, we are almost surrounded by fields. So we get coyotes, and stuff a lot. My dad thinks they must have been born in our yard, because they are SO little that they can't fly yet, and there's no way they could've gotten over our wall if they can't. I think they have a nest on the ground in our bushes. There are about six, and you could fit at least two in one cupped hand. They look a lot like chicks, but they have a brown stripe down their back and the little quail thing on there head.
To sum it up, it was really cute!

Frozen Treats
Because it is SO HOT here in St. George, I found some frosty recipes to cool you down.
Snowballs
Slide a bamboo skewer into three big marshmallow. Place it on a cookie sheet, and freeze for an hour. When you take them out, drizzle the tops of the marshmallow with chocolate Magic Shell topping, and add sprinkles. Let it harden, then eat up!
Flurry Float
This is like a root beer float- on a stick! Scoop vanilla ice cream into a plastic cup(about 1/4 full), and press it down until it's flat. Stick a Popsicle stick into the ice cream. Carefully pour grape juice onto the ice cream until it's almost full. Cover the cup with foil, with the stick poking out. Freeze over night, then remove foil. You can also mix and match juices and ice cream flavors for fun!
Chilly Vanilly
Put a few raspberries and blueberries in the bottom of a cup. Set it aside, and get out a small mixing bowl. Scoop a vanilla pudding cup(the already made kind) into the bowl, an stir in 1/2 cup berries. Add 2 tablespoons of whipped cream, and mix. Carefully scoop mixture into the cups, on top of the berries. Push a Popsicle stick into the cup, and freeze over night. Mmm-mmm!
Peanut Brrrr
Spread three thick stripes of peanut butter on the sides of the cup, top to bottom. Fill cup with strawberry yogurt. Insert a Popsicle stick, and cover the cup(with the stick poking out). When it's done, drizzle with chocolate Magic Shell topping, and let it harden.
Here are a few more yummy snacks, though not as cold(but just as good!).
Fruit Cup
Cut the top 1/4 of an apple. Using a melonballer(or I guess you could use a corer if you have one) core the apple, and with a spoon scoop just a little out of the apple, making a small bowl. Fill the apple with a mix of peanut butter and trail mix.
Fru-shi
This is basically fruit sushi. Wrap a peeled banana in green fruit leather(you can use different flavors, but green is what the recipe calls for). Cut the banana into slices, and dig a small indent in the center of the banana slices. Gently push sprinkles into the little whole(make sure it's not all the way through). Dip slices in lime yogurt. Enjoy!
I hope these help you stay cool!

Vacation
I'm sorry I haven't updated for so long, but I've been on vacation to my Grandpa's ranch. It was soooo much fun. We went fishing, and hiking, and we had a big firework show for the 4th of July. We also took our dog, Annie, which we've never done before. She happens to be a pug, so she wasn't the best ranch dog. Anyway, I had a blast.
This week my dad is in a baseball tornamet, called Heatstrokers. Because it's so hot during the day, he and his team are going to play in the middle of the night. I hope I don't have to go to all of his games!
By the way, the "My First Day Without Braces!!!!!" (my last entry) was actually written by Abbie. If you read it, it says we painted our nails. Well, my nails were still wet, so I couldn't type, and Abbie filled in for me.
I'll try to update more often!
